Your Trusted Guide to Relational Transformation

Beyond Theory: Your Fellow Traveler on the Path to Connection

Hello there!

I'm excited to share a little bit about myself beyond my professional experience and training as a coach. First, let's establish that I do this work because I have been in your shoes. I understand what it's like to want deeper and more fulfilling relationships but feel stuck on how to achieve them. I know the frustration of negative communication patterns with a partner and the hopelessness of trying to fix it. It can be painful. However, I've also experienced the peaceful feeling of reconciliation and repair when approaching my partner or friends with openness, empathy, and self-awareness, even during conflicts. I know what it feels like to build a secure attachment through hard work and courage. I know these things because I, too, once wondered if there was more to relationships than what I had experienced, and I took the necessary risks to find out that there is so much more available. This is what I want to share with you.

Twelve years ago, my friends introduced me to the Enneagram. As a new counselor, I resonated with it but was not ready to integrate its wisdom into my life. At the time, I worked as an assessment counselor for a graduate school where my job was to review the results of a clinical five-factor personality assessment that all first-year students completed and meet with them about how their personality might impact their future work. I loved it, but when I tried to integrate the Enneagram alongside it, it didn't work out. I read more books and received more training to understand the Enneagram better, but it only led to confusion. I found myself swimming between multiple numbers and identifying with all of them to some degree. In frustration, I chose to leave the Enneagram behind as a primary resource for myself and my counseling practice.

Three years ago, when I was going through a professional transition, I contacted my friend Rebecca, whom I knew from counseling school. She offered me a job seeing clients and supervising interns at her practice. Little did I know that this would be a turning point in my journey and would spark a passion in me to integrate the Enneagram into both my personal and professional life. This began my journey back towards authentic self-acceptance, empathy, and awareness.

Rebecca had recently completed her training with The Narrative Enneagram (TNE), and encouraged me to pursue training since it had so deeply impacted her personally and professionally. With skepticism in my back pocket, I began my training in June 2022. As I completed my courses, my skepticism subsided, and it became clear that I had a new professional endeavor in front of me: coaching individuals and couples on how to use the wisdom of the Enneagram to deepen attachment, build empathy, and have a more fulfilling relationship. I would be a guide who explores and clarifies aspects of personality that positively and negatively impact relationships while providing a clear vision of what relationships can be like when this depth of awareness is applied. Now, with over 250 hours of study and practice with the Enneagram under my belt, I'm more confident than ever that the Enneagram, especially when combined with insights from the counseling profession, offers a path toward self-love, acceptance, attachment, and fulfilling relationships.

Joining my Enneagram training are the many hours I have studied and completed online courses with some of the most renowned relationship practitioners and theorists like Sue Johnson, Terrence Real, John and Julie Gottman, and Stan Tatkin, to name a few. I've extensively studied their work on relationship dynamics and incorporated their teachings into my own coaching approach.

Please note that regardless of the knowledge I can offer, one thing remains clear: you have to put in the work. I cannot take the risks of your relationships for you. As a good coach, I will assist you in processing your successes and failures, and equip you to make adjustments as necessary. However, ultimately, you must do the work.

Why? Well, nothing taught me more about improving relationships than taking risks in the relationships that mattered to me and trying to approach them differently. Changing relationships and learning new patterns of connection requires courage, but the rewards are worth it. You will find that people in your life will respond, your relationships will improve and deepen, and your relational needs will be met.

My method is far from one-size-fits-all, though. Instead, I use a flexible framework that combines the Enneagram with evidence-based practices, tailoring a journey that aligns with your individual relational needs and goals. In our sessions, we'll laugh and share stories along the way and explore how this powerful tool can illuminate your relational path. My primary aim is to empower you to build stronger relationships and establish secure, fulfilling connections with those who matter most in your life.

Are you ready to embark on this transformative journey? Reach out, and let's explore how the Enneagram can serve as a gateway to deeper self-understanding and more meaningful connections. Together, we will navigate the intricate dance of connection, making discoveries that lead to growth, healing, and enriched relationships.
